I have been slack in my blogging activities so I'm taking some time to catch up.
I find that I love reading other peoples blogs and am disappointed when I don't see new entries.  But then find I am just as guilty.  I hope to do better in the future as well as add a website to give folks the opportunity

to collect some of my art or jewelry.
Here are couple of new drawing I hope people will enjoy.
I have a third but I think I have forgotten to get a decent picture.
Well here's to a very Happy New Year and to new challenges in art.

Well we have made it through Christmas.  And all in all it was a lovely holiday even with the stress of cancelled plans and missed visits with family and friends.
It was wonderful to  enjoy a delightful lunch with my husband at "Tha Herb" in Multnomah on Christmas Eve.
I wandered into the " Village Bead" in Multnomah as well. Such a treat finding some fun items for projects yet to be.
On Sunday I got together with girlfriends and shared an early dinner and late Christmas gathering.
These are friendships I have had for over 25 years.  We always laugh more then we cry and catch up on all the craziness of our lives.

Recovering nicely

On Nov 23rd the day before Turkey day I suffered 2nd degree burns on my right hand from trying to re start our Natural Gas water heater. I must say I was very lucky, it could have been a lot worse.  I appreciate the excellent medical care I received and my husband who took really good care of me.
I have to say that looking at my hand today it is healing quite nicely although the skin has started to peel off.     But that is part of the natural healing process.
The human body is so remarkable.  I was very scared as it is one of the worst things to have happen as an artist other then loosing your eye sight.  It was difficult as well not using my hand.  But healing was more important and I managed to muddle though with a good book and movies.
I feel very blessed this holiday season.
Take care,
LouiseB

Cold Days stir creativity

Well the weather has turned very cold.  Thick frost coated everything in the outside world this morning.  And I think the high will only be about 45, ugh.
I worked in the yard yesterday and covered the front plants with a thick coat of bark mulch.  It keeps them protected as well as cleans up the yard for winter.  Looks good and got me warmed up.

Second order of cards mailed off this week to Olympia.  I need to get ahead and make more to have on hand.  I guess that is an important lesson to learn so you are not rushed at the last minute.

More work on my new ring design.  Adding some other sizes of beads and making it more interesting.  I am also trying a couple of different patterns with color not really digging it for right now but maybe later.

I also  have worked on some wire work earrings this weekend .  Always fun and inspiring.
I love putting different pieces together and seeing how they turn out.

Their forecasting snow but I'm not sure how that going to turn out.  I guess we'll see.
Well back to being creative..........

Tons of new ideas

I can't believe how time is flying by.  I guess the cold I had for almost two weeks has also sucked up time too. Ha, ha.
I have started a new ring design and love it. This ring is reversible.  I like wearing it on my middle finger where it is big and bold.  But if I reverse the ring  pushing it inside out I can wear it on my ring finger as it decreases one size and has a totally new look.
They must not be worn in water as the will stretch out.  Sadly I found this out myself and will need to redo another ring.  These rings are great if your fingers swell like mine as they give and have no hard edges.
I hope to get some pictures up soon.
I must start concentrating on the holidays as Thanksgiving is fast approaching.
The weather is cold and wet as usual for this time of year so it always a great excuse to stay inside except for food shopping and art supply shopping. Ha,ha.
Happy weekend everyone,

"My Balancing act" Original art by LouiseB

This week I recieved another order of cards from Olympia Washington.
It has been a hard week at work so this was a bright spot and lifted my spirits.
This is Halloween weekend and I plan on watching a lot of scary movies and working on some jewelry and more drawing as I think I am getting my husbands cold so a restful weekend is on the agenda.
I hear the cars going through the puddles outside and am thankful for a warm home to take shelter in.
Enjoy your weekend,
LouiseB

Photo fun

Well today  I worked on making a light box for taking photos.
That was fun, but then I found an easier way to make a light box.  Thanks Etsy for both ideas.

It has been a very fun and creative weekend.
I now need to work on my halloween decor for the office.  I always get creative when I'm supposed to be doing something else.  Bad me but so much fun.
